Summary

The Assistant Safety Manager supports the Head of Safety, Security and Compliance in the day-to-day operations.

Reporting to Head of Safety, Security and Compliance, he/she will work closely with all the departments in dnata Singapore on Workplace Safety and Health matters. Safety Manager will work closely with various departments to develop a safety culture and continuously improve on safety performance and to reduce incidences and its associated cost.

In the absence of the Head of Safety, Security and Compliance, he/she will cover the duties and responsibilities relating to Safety

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive, implement and ensure compliance to all statutory/ WSH legislations as well as to maintain and updated company’s legal register
  • Manage the Risk Management Framework as well as to maintain the risk register.
  • Support occupier of the workplace to implement the measures or safe work procedure.
  • Support in consolidating monthly safety performance reports.
  • Perform and plan activities in line with WSH regulations (Audiometric testing, Noise monitoring etc.)
  • Manage incident via in-house incident reporting system and perform investigations, recommend actions, and follow up on matters arising from these activities.
  • Inspect workplace to identify hazard and risk and address them appropriately
  • Perform and Plan annual internal audit with Quality Manager and support external audit when assigned
  • Lead and plan Safety Induction Program for all new employees as well as developing and implementing programs to raise employees’ awareness of work risks and to help cultivate a strong safety culture within the organization
  • Participant in all division’s SAG meetings in a monthly basis.
  • Review and update WSH requirements in Company’s Safety Management System manual and support safety programs / initiative from dnata headquarters
  • Request and evaluate proposals and contract documentation for relevant safety issue
  • Liaise with subcontractors when safety qualification criteria are not met and work with subcontractors to ensure their safety program follow requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedure

Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting manager or department head

 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree/ Diploma in Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution (working knowledge of ISO9001, ISAGO and with experience in safety audits)
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in managing Health, Safety and Security, preferably in airline or aviation services
