Resource Planning Manager
Summary
The Resource Planning Manager is responsible to his team to maximizing the utilization of available resources through the provision of medium-term tactical planning and production of staff rosters, ensuring the is responsible for the provision of rosters considering fluctuations in flight volumes, feedback from Resource Allocator teams, and other operational data sources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a role model for dnata’s values: safety and security, performance driven, delighting customers, imagination, respect and service excellence
- Uphold the highest standards by ensuring policies, governance, and legal guidelines are effectively communicated and adhered to by all stakeholders, protecting our shareholder and brand value
- Provide an independent view regarding the most effective utilization of all resources. Support the allocation of resources in through long-term planning. Direct and support Resource Planners and Resource Allocators to effectively resource shifts on a monthly to 24/7 basis through three distinct phases:
- Pre-planning – considering the expected demands, schedules, and roster resources pre-plan the allocation of tasks 24-72 hours in advance of the shift
- Shift-planning – during the shift prior and/or at the start of the appropriate shift, considering the actual availability of resources (Manpower, Equipment, and Facilities), re-check the pre-plan and undertake the detailed allocation of all resources ensuring that allocation is undertaken according to load
- Real-time – considering the availability of resources and the dynamic operational environment, undertake all aspects of the real-time allocation of resources in-line with the actual loads
- Improve operational efficiency and productivity by utilizing specialist knowledge of the decision support systems including but not limited to Resource Management System (RMS), Real-Time Control (RTC), Multi-Access Check-in System (MACS) and other dnata or third-part Management Information Systems (MIS).
- Actively work with the Duty Managers, Resource Planners and Resource Allocators by providing expert advice, input and direction in order to respond to dynamic changes during rostering including but not limited to annual leave planning, long term workplace injuries or sickness.
- Effectively communicate the rostering plan to the appropriate staff, seeking input and review to ensure that front-line staff inputs are reviewed and accounted for in the continual improvement of rostering coverage.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedures
- Champion dnata’s Environment Sustainability Framework, living our commitment to reducing emissions, responsible consumption, and the protection of wildlife and habitats, while promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship within the aviation sector
- Be a brand ambassador, representing dnata in a professional and brand-aligned manner, reflecting our values and business strategy in public speaking engagements and representational appearances
Requirements
- Minimum Degree or Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution with minimum 5 years in a management or leadership role
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant industry experience, with a demonstrable sound knowledge of airport operations and customer service with an airline, airport, or ground handling company
- Strong analytical ability, diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with ability to anticipate future needs to make strategic decisions on optimising resource utilisation
- Excellent time management, prioritization, with creative and lateral thinking
- Must possess advanced computer skills with an awareness of specialist applications, packages, programme languages, and high proficiency of MS-Office
- Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken
- System user training required on Inform suite. Knowledge of the Inform suite is highly advantageous
