Technical Ramp Agent

 

Summary

The Technical Operator I/II, is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of Ground Support Equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, Tow Tractor, Ground Power Unit, Portable Water Unit, Toilet Servicing Unit, Air Conditioning Unit, Air Starter Unit, Conventional Pushback Tractor and other specialized equipment used in airport operations. The role demands a high level of attention to detail, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work under tight schedules to ensure timely aircraft ground operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment and vehicles within the permitted classes safely and efficiently
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, report any malfunctions or damages immediately to supervisor
  • Preform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walk on aircraft parking stand
  • Perform manual marshalling or operate Aircraft Docking Guidance System (ADGS) at aircraft parking stands
  • Place and remove aircraft wheel chocks and safety cones based on airlines’ requirement
  • Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
  • Perform general aircraft servicing operations
  • Safely tow and position aircraft within assigned aircraft parking stand, ensuring adherence to airport and airline procedures.
  • Act as mentor to new recruits in the organization
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety and health policies and security protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPEs)
  • Adhere to airport authority rules & regulation, dnata Ground Operation Manual (dGOM) and airlines GOM
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and other duties, as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Minimum secondary education and above
  • Must possess minimum LTA Class 3 driving license or any state driving licence equivalent to LTA Class 3
  • Able to obtain Airfield Driving Permit (ADP) after attending the Airfield Rules & Regulations Course (ARRC) conducted by internal trainer, and passing CAG Airfield Rules Test (ART) and Airside Driving & Safety Compliance Test (ADSCT).
  • Able to upgrade Airfield Driving Permit after attending internal Class 4D and Class 5S Training, and passing respective driving test conducted by internal instructor and tester
