Commercial Executive
Summary
The Commercial Executive plays a critical role in driving commercial activities, managing client relationships, and executing marketing strategies. This position will focus on identifying new business opportunities, enhancing client engagement, and ensuring the company’s market presence remains competitive within the ground handling and aviation sectors. The Commercial Executive will work closely with the Commercial Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth delivery of services, and to foster long-term partnerships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Business Development & Sales:
o Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the aviation and logistics industries.
o Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients to increase customer retention and foster long-term partnerships.
o Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities to promote services and build brand awareness.
• Commercial Contracts & Proposals:
o Draft and negotiate Standard Ground Handling Agreements (SGHAs) and other commercial contracts tailored to client needs, including quotes for scheduled and ad-hoc services.
o Provide timely responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and generate accurate pricing strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Client Relationship Management:
o Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring clients’ needs are met with a high level of service.
o Maintain and update a comprehensive customer contact database using tools like Salesforce to ensure accurate records of communications, contracts, and ongoing projects.
• Market Research & Analysis:
o Conduct detailed market research, including competitive analysis, to identify industry trends and assess performance metrics.
o Leverage insights from research to recommend strategic initiatives and new revenue streams for the company.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
o Work with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, and legal) to align commercial efforts with operational capabilities and financial objectives.
o Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between the commercial team and other departments to meet client expectations.
• Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
o Regularly report on commercial activities, sales performance, and client feedback to the Commercial Manager.
o Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to commercial success and client satisfaction.
• Other Duties:
o Support any additional tasks or projects that align with the company’s commercial objectives.
Requirements
• Experience:
o At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in commercial, sales, or account management roles within the aviation, logistics, or transportation industries.
o Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering commercial success.
• Skills & Competencies:
o Strong understanding of commercial contracts and the ability to draft, review, and negotiate agreements.
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
o Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to conduct market research and financial analysis.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities and initiative.
• Other:
o Familiarity with the ground handling or aviation industry is highly preferred. o Flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required for client meetings and business development opportunities.
